Der Geiger, Produzent und Songwriter Alex Stolze hat sich mittlerweile einen starken Ruf für seine einzigartige Musik erworben. Er wechselt nahtlos zwischen modernen klassischen Instrumentierungen, einfühlsamer Electronica und unkonventionellen Popsongs und schafft es dabei, auf Basis seiner 5-saitigen Violine einen durchgehend konsistenten Sound zu kreieren.

Nahöstliche Skalen erzeugen eine betörende Klanglandschaft, komplexe Polyrhythmen und ungewöhnliche Taktarten werden zu süchtig machenden, tanzbaren grooves und mitreissenden Songs.

Alex Stolze’s Arbeit mit dem Elektro-Trio Bodi Bill, der Avantgardeband Dictaphone sowie sein Wirken als Gründer und Kopf von Nonostar Records, auf dem auch Anne Müller , Ben Osborn und Field Kit bereits veröffentlicht haben, sorgen darüber hinaus immer wieder für internationales Aufsehen.
Mit seinem zweiten Album Kinship Stories , welches am 4.12.2020 erschienen ist, belebt Alex Stolze seine einzigartige Mischung aus Electronica, alternativem KammerPop und moderner Klassik neu. Die elf Tracks verleihen seinem Sound eine neue Ebene musikalischer Helligkeit und lyrischen Optimismus‘.
Infektiöse Beats und eingängige Hooks kontrastieren mit der dunklen Stille seines Debüts „ Outermost Edge“ und bringen seine Kompositionen – und ihre zugrunde liegende politische Botschaft – noch deutlicher ans Licht.
Nach zahlreichen Touren, die ihn seit 2017 u. a. in die Elbphilharmonie Hamburg und viel nach England führten, kommt er nun 2021 gemeinsam mit Ben Osborn auf Tour , der ihn an Piano und Elektronik unterstützt.

Ben Osborn

Ben Osborn is a composer, poet and multi-instrumentalist. Already known as a composer for theatre and film and a lyricist and librettist, 2019 saw the release of his debut album Letters from the Border.

Channelling Leonard Cohen-esque balladry, Ben draws also from electronica, folk and 20th century art music. Ethereal string sections rise and fade, Björk-like beats skitter, Erik Satie piano chords drift into view: in less capable hands it might sound miscellaneous, but he weaves his disparate influences into textural tapestries that sound like nobody but him.

Ben’s highly acclaimed debut album Letters from the Border was the result of an extraordinary musical partnership with producer and violinist Alex Stolze. The album was created in two months at the remote Nonostar Studio on the German-Polish border

The name ​Field Kit​ will sound familiar to anyone who knows anything about electroacoustic sounds and experimentation. It is the name of a workstation: a technical multi-instrument which receives radio signals and alternating voltages with which all kinds of noises and signals can be produced, outputted and controlled. A beautiful name for an instrument, at once abstract and pragmatic, it’s also a perfect name for the musical collective of ​Hannah von Hübbenet​.

For ​Field Kit​’s self-titled debut album on Nonostar Records, Hübbenet is working with the composer, pianist and producer ​John Gürtler​. Their approach is fluid, playful, experimental and yet unpretentious. Classically trained – both studied at the Universität der Künste Berlin – both have a curiosity that goes beyond the classical. Increasingly uninterested by the narrow structures of classical music, both went on to study film composition at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. There, they became friends and collaborators – quickly discovering a shared love of sonic manipulation instead of musical formalism; a shared drive to disturb, confuse and alienate both tone and emotion. Both are now successful and award-winning film composers.

Field Kit​ experiments using guidelines and restrictions to give a framework in which anything and everything can happen: from generating vibrations within the piano to playing tubas backwards or building robotic drummers. Improvisations on particular themes, sounds, references or restrictions, creating unexpected harmonies of object and idea.
