Haley Bonar hat ihr neues Album “Impossible Dream” angekündigt, das via Memphis Industries am 5. August veröffentlicht wird.

Das neue Album wurde ganz altmodisch analog in den Pachyderm Studios in Minnesota aufgenommen und von Bonar zusammen mit Jacob Hansen produziert. Es ist der Nachfolger des 2014 erschienenen “Last War”.

Haley Bonar selbst sagt über “Impossible Dream”:
“Everybody wants a story. Something to sell. I’m here to tell you that there isn’t one with this album, at least in the traditional sense, but ten. I could sit here and tell you that some of the songs are about growing up in the Black Hills. Some of the songs are about my parents. Some of the songs are about homosexuality. Some of the songs are about loss of youth, teenage parenthood, the lines of social disorder for women, or the terror of jealousy and suspicion. But what I write is borne of my own set of memories and ideas, and once they are released into the world, they do not belong to me anymore.”

Haley Bonar wurde von Alan Sparhawk (Low) entdeckt, der sie in einem lokalen Pub in Duluth, Minnesota spielen sah und so begeistert von ihr war, dass er sie sofort dazu einlud, ihn und seine Band auf Tour zu begleiten. Eine Woche später wurde aus der neunzehnjährigen College Studentin Haley Bonar eine ambitionierte Studienabbrecherin, die sich mit Gitarre bepackt zusammen mit einem Drummer in einen Honda Civic quetschte, um gemeinsam mit Low zu touren.

In dem folgenden Jahrzehnt hat Haley zahlreiche erfolgreiche Aufnahmen veröffentlicht, die von Platte zu Platte mehr Lob erhielten und für die sie mit Größen wie Andrew Bird (mit dem sie regelmäßig live spielt) und Justin Vernon (der auch auf „Last War“ zu hören war) zusammengearbeitet hat.
