Der Prince of Peace kommt, anders als der Ska-Hit von Prince Buster vermuten lässt, im Februar aus dem Süden angereist, aus München um genau zu sein. Dort ist er Mitveranstalter des Reggae Hit The Town Allnighters und damit für die einzige Veranstaltung in der Metropole, die sich jamaikanischen Oldies verschrieben hat, verantwortlich. Begonnen hat seine Leidenschaft für Rocksteady und frühen Reggae vor noch nicht all zu langer Zeit, seit seiner Teenager-Zeit galt diese eher dem Dancehall. Spätestens seit einem längeren Aufenthalt in London von ein paar Jahren hat ihn die Begeisterung und Sammlerleidenschaft der dortigen Szene für originale Platten aus den 60er und 70er Jahren angesteckt. Die Crew um das Maratone Soundsystem hat sich bereits auf verschiedenen Veranstaltung in anderen Städten von seinem exzellenten Geschmack überzeugt und freut sich, beim Rocksteady Club dem Berliner Publikum mal wieder ein neues Gesicht zu präsentieren. Panza ist leider auch dieses Mal wieder für Supersonic unterwegs und somit nicht dabei, dafür reist Alex, die zweite Hälfte der Midnight Drifters an. Für ein wohliges Gefühl in der Magengrube und einen authentischen Sound sorgt wie üblich das Maratone Soundsystem.

Knowing the famous Ska tune by Prince Buster you might expect the Prince of Peace coming from another geographic direction but he’ll come from the south, Munich to be exact. He is one of the organisers behind Reggae Hit The Town down there and providing the only quality jamaican oldies dance in town. He got in touch with the beautiful sound of young jamaica through Dancehall and modern Reggae and is an enthusiastic collector since a longer stay in London where he dived into the scene in 2015. The Maratone Crew heard him play before at dances in different cities and is happy to introduce him to the Berlin audience at the Rocksteady Club in February. Panza is busy with Supersonic and will be back for the next edition in April but Alex, the other half of the Midnight Drifters will play the killer tunes our audience loves him for. The Maratone Soundsytem will provide warm and heavy bass to make you experience the music like back in the days.
