The Delines will make a welcome return to the UK in support of their 4th album, to be released February 2025, featuring a show at the Union Chapel, a venue they’ve previously sold out twice.
The Delines formed from the ashes of Richmond Fontaine: RF lead singer/songwriter Willy VlauKn, drummer Sean Oldham, and bassist Freddy Trujillo joined forces with the magnificent singer Amy Boone and Cory Gray on keys and trumpet.
“We’ve just put the final touches on the new record aSer nearly two years of recording, mixing, and Knkering. It’s our most ambiKous one yet and Boone’s vocals are devastaKngly beauKful.”
Their debut record, COLFAX, appeared in 2014 surprising fans and criKcs alike. Evoking a beat-up Dusty Springfield or a weary Rickie Lee Jones, COLFAX made over a dozen year-end top ten lists. It was a four-year wait unKl their sophomore effort was released. Singer Amy Boone spent much of that Kme in hospital beds recovering from serious injuries sustained in a car accident in AusKn, Texas. When she was just strong enough to stand she finished the vocal tracks for THE IMPERIAL, a record that spent two weeks on top of the UK official Americana charts with the band playing sold out shows across the UK and Europe. The band returned with their cinemaKc third album, THE SEA DRIFT, which Americana UK and BBC6 Gideon Coe both named ‘Album of the Year’ along with over twenty end-of-year lists across the UK and EU. The band has performed at End Of The Road, Take Root, Black Deer and a host of other European fesKvals with their intense live shows.
Willy VlauKn is no stranger to criKcal acclaim, enjoying success and rave reviews from the likes of the New York Times, Washington Post, Uncut, Rolling Stone and Mojo, both as a musician and a novelist with seven books under his belt. Two of his books, The Motel Life and Lean On Pete, have become major films with another currently in producKon with Neglix for release in 2025.
